Our digital world

On Tuesday the 21th of November we were given a guest lecture from Erdinç Saçan on Digital Marketing. It was a very fascinating lecture on how digital marketing is used by companies. Digital marketing is the reason that many shops go bankrupt because people nowadays buy their products on the internet. Furthermore, some companies don’t even sell products but create an infrastructure on the internet like Uber an Spotify, so they do not produce a physical product. He also told much about how companies like Google know exactly who and where you are, and are able to send targeted advertising to you. Everyone in the class was paying attention.
